By buying just a few toys at a time, you can end up saving a lot of money when you discover the animal does not like them. Think how much worse it would be if you spent hundreds. You should instead make sure you have enough money for any shots or procedures done to ensure the safety of the animal. Make sure you have the correct habitation, food, and any restraints you may need.

Training your animal should be another area of expense when it comes to supplies. Litter boxes and kennels need to be of the appropriate size and quality.
